Our chamber members are the lifeblood of the Lakeshore Chamber, and as they succeed in business, so do the chamber and the communities of East Chicago and Hammond. During the past two years we have added over 100 new businesses to our organization, and we continue to build toward our next milestone - a strong membership of 650 businesses. Additionally, during the past two years, we successfully completed our Capital Campaign, and our $210,000 initial mortgage debt incurred in 2001 to buy our current facility, is now officially retired, and the Lakeshore Chamber is debt-free!
Kudos to our hard working Board of Directors, Chamber Staff, and the Chamber Members for making this possible.
Economic Development continues to be a high priority with the Lakeshore Chamber, and we continue to work with both Economic Development Teams from East Chicago and Hammond. Horeshoe Casino's new $500 Million dollar Casino is now open; BP's $3.8 Billion dollar expansion has started, and East Chicago's impressive North Harbor Project continues with massive infrastructure improvements, and the start of 100 new homes.
